Web hosting service

A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own or lease for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation.

Go Daddy To Open Netherlands Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- In an effort to expand its customer base in Europe, domain registrar and web host Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com) is opening a new data center in the Netherlands, according to a Data Center Knowledge report.

Designed to improve the performance of sites for European users by moving content closer to the end user, the new facility will be owned and operated by Scottsdale, Arizona-based Go Daddy.

"By spending the money up front and not outsourcing operations, we control key factors like uptime, security and speed" Go Daddy chief executive officer and founder Bob Parsons told Data Center Knowledge. "No one will take better care of our customers than we will – no one."

While Go Daddy did not offer the specific location of the facility, Amsterdam is clearly one of Europe's largest data center markets, offering a lucrative connectivity hub for online traffic.

Go Daddy manages more than 36 million domains for 7 million customers, making it one of the largest registrar of its kind. With its increasing focus on Europe, according to Data Center Knowledge, Go Daddy is hoping to gain customers in Germany, France, the UK and Spain, all of which have Internet penetration double the global average

Go Daddy

Shutdown of RateMyCop
On March 11, 2008, Go Daddy shut down RateMyCop.com — a RateMyProfessors-type site where people would comment on their interactions with law enforcement officers — after complaints from police officers.[71] After being contacted about the shutdown, Go Daddy responded that it was due to "suspicious activity".[citation needed] However, the owner of the site was later told by Go Daddy that the site was shut down for reaching its 3 terabyte bandwidth limit, although doubt has been expressed[who?] about the second explanation as the site had only 80,000 connected users that day and 400,000 the previous day.[citation needed] In reality the website was suspended for pegging the CPU on one of Go Daddy's shared hosting servers which affected the performance of other websites hosted on that same server. Normal response was to suspend the account and for customer support to encourage the customer to upgrade to a dedicated hosting plan. This internal procedure went through a major change after the RateMyCop controversy, so that websites that violate the usage terms are moved to their own host temporarily until the customer can resolve the resource consumption issue or migrate to a more robust hosting plan.[citation needed] The registrar for the name, Name.com, continued to allow the DNS to resolve. Go Daddy stated the reason for shutting down the Web site had nothing to do with censorship or complaints but that the site was receiving too many simultaneous connections.[72] In a similar incident, GoDaddy also complied with a demand that the Irish website RateYourSolicitor.com be taken down

GODADDY NASCAR and JR Motorsports
A fourth spokesman, with commercials which are not sexually suggestive, has appeared in ads starting in 2008. These ads, which air in NASCAR broadcasts, feature NASCAR Nationwide Series owner Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who owns, designed, and occasionally drives the #5 JR Motorsports Chevrolet in the series. Go Daddy's sponsorship of the team includes five races in 2008 with Mark Martin and Ron Fellows (who won the NAPA Pièces d'auto 200 présenté par Dodge in the Go Daddy Chevrolet) sharing duties in the races along with Earnhardt Jr., who designed the paint scheme for the car, which in true Earnhardt tradition, is dominated by black with green and orange (the colors of Go Daddy) nearer to the back of the car. GoDaddy.com also has sponsored the Randy Moss Motorsports (fka Morgan-Dollar Motorsports) truck when Landon Cassill drives it, both in the original #46 and later as #81, as Cassill is a Hendrick Motorsports Developmental Driver, which includes selected Nationwide Series races in Earnhardt's #5 car.

Go Daddy has also sponsored Brad Keselowski in the #25 for Hendrick Motorsports on a limited basis in the Sprint Cup series (owing to the "part-time rookie exemption" to a four-car limit). After a successful 2008 season, Go Daddy is expanding its 2009 NASCAR sponsorship with the JR Motorsports organisation, sponsoring 20 Nationwide Series races as primary sponsor, split between the #5 and #88 teams. The #88 deal gives Keselowski a full 35-race NASCAR Nationwide Series sponsorship for 2009 split with Delphi and Unilever. Go Daddy will also be the primary sponsor for seven races in the Sprint Cup Series with Keselowski driving.[50] GoDaddy.com signed a one-year deal with Darlington Raceway to sponsor the Southern 500 held on Confederate Memorial Day.[51][52] The agreement is for one year.[53] Keselowski got his third Nationwide victory at Dover - his first in the #88 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet.[54][55] In the same season, Keselowski scored a second Nationwide victory in the #88 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet at the first ever NASCAR race at Iowa SpeedwayAnd then at Michigan

GODADDY Marketing

Go Daddy's advertising is produced in-house, and typically contains sexually suggestive material (with the exception of their NASCAR advertising, in an attempt to avoid being attacked by fans, networks, and NASCAR; the sanctioning body has a policy that censors sexually suggestive ads on cars and television broadcasts)[citation needed]. CEO Bob Parsons refers to the marketing as "GoDaddy-esque" which he describes as "fun, edgy and a bit inappropriate."[25] Most of Go Daddy's early TV ads starred former WWE Diva Candice Michelle, in some sort of sexual-related theme. She has been referred to as "Miss GoDaddy.com" or "The Go Daddy Girl" by fans and on WWE TV shows, where she also does the "Go Daddy Dance" (twirling her arms around her body while slowly turning) as part of her wrestling gimmick.

In 2006, Go Daddy began sponsoring IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, who subsequently joined the "Go Daddy Girl" lineup and began playing a prominent role in the company's commercials. In March 2009, Go Daddy announced professional poker player Vanessa Rousso as the newest Go Daddy Girl.[26] Vanessa competed in the Go Daddy sponsored NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship the same month, finishing second and making history by being the first woman to make it to the finals. [27] Also in March 2009, Go Daddy added pro-golfer Anna Rawson, bringing the Go Daddy Girl spokeswomen count to four. She is edgy, she is fun, she is hotter than firecrackers, she is very clever and everything we look for in a Go Daddy Girl, CEO Bob Parsons said of Rawson at a news conference in Phoenix.[28] In August 2009 another Go Daddy Girl was announced. A Russian native, Marina Orlova is an online linguist, explaining the origin of words on her HotforWords.com Web site. A New Yorker magazine blogger called her the sexiest philologist in the world.[29][30]

For a third consecutive year, Go Daddy was the presenting sponsor of the Indianapolis 500 race broadcast on ABC.[31] Go Daddy also debuted a new commercial called "Speeding" during the Indy 500. The commercial features Danica Patrick getting pulled over for speeding by a female cop wanting to be a "Go Daddy Girl."[32] The ad teases to an edgier Web version that drove a 570% traffic increase to GoDaddy.com.[33]

History
Go Daddy was founded in 1997 as Jomax Technologies by Bob Parsons, who previously founded the software development company Parsons Technology, Inc. The company changed its name to Go Daddy in 1999 when a group of employees were brainstorming on a more memorable name than Jomax Technologies. Someone said "How about Big Daddy?" A quick check revealed that it was taken. Then Parsons said "How about Go Daddy?" The name was available, so he bought it.[5] CEO Bob Parsons states the company stuck with the name because it made people smile and people remember it.[6]

Go Daddy has grown to become the largest ICANN-accredited registrar on the internet.[7] In 2001, soon after Network Solutions lost its monopoly, Go Daddy was approximately the same size as competitors Dotster and eNom.[8] In April 2005 it surpassed Network Solutions in market share in terms of total domain names registered. By 2009, Go Daddy had become 3.5 times the size of eNom and 30 times the size of Dotster.

In 2002, Go Daddy sued VeriSign for domain slamming[9] and again in 2003 over its Site Finder service.[10] This latter suit caused controversy over VeriSign's role as the sole maintainer of the .com and the .net top-level domains. VeriSign shut down Site Finder after receiving a letter from ICANN ordering it to comply with a request to disable the service.[11] In 2006, Go Daddy was sued by Web.com for patent infringement.[12][13]

In 2007 and 2008, the company lobbied in favor of legislation that would crack down on unscrupulous online pharmacies and child predators.[14][15]

[edit] Awards
In 2007, Go Daddy was named "Most Innovative Company" by the 2007 Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) awards. Go Daddy also ranked number 2 on the ACE "25 Fastest Growing" companies list.[16]

In 2009, Go Daddy was listed as the #1 Software Company and the "Best of the Best" technology company by Ranking Arizona USA.[17]

In 2009 Go Daddy was voted "Best Registrar" Domain Name Wire annual survey for the 4th consecutive year.[18][19]

Go Daddy won the 'Best Perks' category in AZCentral.com's 3rd Annual Readers' Choice Awards for 2009 and was listed among the "Best Places to Work in the Valley" for five consecutive years (2003–2008).[

Satelite Education, Culture & Sports

Satélite is known for being an area with an excellent educational circuit: some good private schools as well as a couple of public junior highs have their home here. School competition is officially low but is a big issue of pride for many "satelucos", to the extent of determining a particular state of mind for each and anyone of them. The most important educational center is an UNAM Faculty of Superior Studies at Acatlán. The area also houses a Universidad del Valle de Mexico (UVM) university campus.

Some of Mexico's best known Olympic medallists lived or live here. Examples are Carlos Mercenario, Soraya Jiménez and Fernando Platas. In the lower zone of Boulevares, almost next to Acatlán Town are the fields of the zone representative teams, such as: The Buccaneers - Bucaneros -, the Cowboys - Vaqueros -, the Black Dogs - Perros Negros - and the Redskins - Pieles Rojas -. The second and fourth being the most famous outside Satélite. There is also a local soccer football league: Liga de Fútbol Satélite.

Cultural exports from Satélite include, the members of the band Café Tacvba, troubadour Fernando Delgadillo and rock band Dildo and actress Ninel Conde. For more prominent "Satelucos", visit Satelín-Torres' list:[1] list.

Satelite Sights

Many of the old history of the area is seen in Our Lady of Los Remedios Shrine and its aqueduct. House watching has never been a popular activity, but certainly there are many interesting architectural details to be seen.

The Satélite Towers. This landmark stands in the middle of Periferico, Mexico City's main Freeway. Built by Mathias Goeritz and Luis Barragán and inspired in the painter Jesus Reyes Ferreyra's ideas, it is truly a great piece of architecture. Due to the unusual fact that nobody really own the land over which they were built, they were not maintained by any government and had fallen into disrepair, until they were finally repainted in their original colors, which had been chosen by Barragán, and recovered their landmarking symbol in the late 90's.

Naucalli Park is a large extension of eucalypt forest devoted to the recreation of locals and other inhabitants of nearby areas. It used to be an ejido (communal agricultural grounds) called "Ejido de Oro". An expropriation decree converted it into a park which has a jogging circuit, many playground spots, monumental fountains, a convention center, an Agora (forum for art exhibits), a Culture House, the branch of a well-known Mexico City restaurant, an archery training ground, a big forum for classical music concerts (The State of Mexico Symphonic Orchestra used to play here on Sundays) and an amusement park with animatronic dinosaurs.

Plaza Satélite, built in the late sixties by the studio of the famous architect Juan Sordo Madaleno, is one of the biggest malls in Mexico City. It has undergone two full renewals and has all of the big department stores of the country, music stores, restaurants, boutiques, services and a big cinema complex.

Mundo E is a smaller, most middle to lower middle class tendered mall, with libraries, boutiques, another cinema complex, a fitness center and a couple of nightclubs.

Other smaller malls are: Heliplaza, Shopping Plaza and the commerces on Zona Esmeralda. A new and controversial big mall was built at La Cúspide (The Summit), which is the area's highest ground, offering sweeping views of Mexico City.

The Mall Circuit Zone (Circuito Centro Comercial) is Satélite's central commercial zone. Besides the big mall, it includes several commerces such as restaurants, nightclubs, cafeterias, three different but excellent bookstores, banks, and all the usual suspects of a twenty first century suburb.

The Blue Zone (La Zona Azul) is a nostalgic pair of commercial blocks that have some of the first businesses that operated in the area. It is such a famous icon of Satélite that it is the local place for joy demonstrations after Mexican National Team's victories in soccer matches. A well-known ice cream and spicy fruit parlour is the main culinary attraction. There are of course other food options, a branch of a world class cafeteria and an old stationary store. The Blue zone is known for drag racing of motorcycles and custom tuned cars.

The Ruins of Acropolis. Originally built as an outdoor shopping mall. The Acropolis never obtained popularity and was abandoned. Nowadays it stands as one of the landmarks of ciudad satélite. Locals are proud of the unique style of the acropolis architecture.

Luis Barragán's sculptures can be seen in Arboledas neighbourhood. However, some monuments are in a decrepit state.

Parque de los Ciervos (Wild Deer Park) in Zona Esmeralda is a forest park where wild deers are raised. Picnic and playground facilities.

The only prehispanic facts known about the area are that once the Tlatilca culture lived in the area formed between Totolinga, Los Cuartos and Hondo rivers. (tucked inside the industrial zone of Naucalpan we can find a small museum). Later, during the colonial period, the Shrine of Our Lady of Los Remedios was built when a Spanish officer found the religious figure under a maguey plant. It is said that the small virgin had been brought by Gonzalo Rodríguez de Villafuerte. The shrine, which divides the Satélite area from the popular zones of Naucalpan municipality, was built in the sixteenth century, and in the architectural compound we can find the well-known caracoles or Los Remedios Aqueduct.

Ciudad Satélite, the core neighbourhood, started as a new urbanistic concept in the mid fifties, when the roaring extension of Mexico City and the upcoming of a new and energetic Middle Class forced the development of whole new neighbourhoods. The story of Las Torres de Satélite, the Greater Mexico City landmark for the area, is related in another article. It has been said that the grounds (in the northwestern suburbs of the city, near the old highway to Querétaro) originally belonged to a Mexican president: Miguel Alemán Valdés, who was in office from 1946 to 1952. He kept some acres and built a huge manor in Surgeons Circuit. Architect Mario Pani created most of the urban design. The great novelty in Ciudad Satélite is the total absence (at least in the core neighbourhood) of traffic lights, due to an ingenious street layout with "circuitos" or wide oval circuits where incorporation to other main roads allow to see if cars are coming. Each of Ciudad Satélite circuits has several streets with names of famous professionals relating to the circuit's name. The names of the circuits are the following: Centro Comercial (The Mall), Centro Cívico (Civical Center), Sculptors, Painters, Musicians, Mineralogists, Pedagogues, Scientists, Engineers, Teachers, Historians, Surgeons, Doctors, Geographers, Sailors, Playwrights, Orators, Missionaries, Architects, Poets, Novelists, Economists, Heroes, Jurists, Journalists, Diplomats, and the Two external circuits (Circunvalación Oriente y Circunvalación Poniente). The urban design and the original pricing for the grounds was deliberately intended for segmenting the new city into three areas: middle class, upper middle class and high class. Novelists and Economists were the circuits with the highest ground prices, so it is not a surprise that the most spectacular manors were built there. Many of Ciudad Satélite's houses were built in a functionalist style, absent of any kind of decorative elements in the facade. This also applies to the so-called Ciudad Satélite's cathedral, San Felipe de Jesús Sanctuary. This big, spectacular church features many functionalist style elements, as well as astounding paintings. Other styles present in the neighbourhood are colonial, modernist (vintage Mexican architecture), and Spanish or Californian colonial style.

The next neighbourhoods were developed in the next years, so the urban extension of Satélite area has been growing ever since.

Contemporary issues on Satélite include the big traffic problems (as this is a sleep-over zone, many people drive to Mexico City everyday), The decrepit state of many roads, some new concerns on car robberies, violations on environmental regulations, saturation and oversupply of real estate due to new developments, and unauthorized commerces in habitational designed zones. The three municipalities in which this area sprawls are governed by the National Action Party (Mexico) (PAN), creating which has been called "The blue corridor".

Satelite

Satélite has many concepts within. As said earlier, Ciudad Satélite is the main neighbourhood or "core" of the entire area, which started as a different urbanistic concept (See History). But real estate developments through the ages have expanded completely the idea of any Greater Mexico City inhabitant about the word Satélite.

The project was approved by the president Miguel Alemán Valdés in 1948. The city was almost finished, but uninhabited in 1952. In that year people started to move in, because of the attractive prices. Public Services as the phone lines were not finished yet in all circuits. People had to use public phones. Ciudad Satélite didn't start to be massive populated until 1970's.

For some, the area can be divided into four parts: The south zone, which comprises from Las Américas neighbourhood, next to Naucalpan City Hall, Vista del Valle (after the famous Norwegian poet), Paseos del Bosque and El Mirador. Some even consider the neighbourhoods of San Mateo, La Florida and the Echegaray borough to be part of the South Zone of Satélite. The next zone would be the central-western zone. Technically, it consists of Ciudad Satélite, the core neighbourhood, Lomas Verdes, Boulevares, Naucalli Park, and even La Concordia. The third area is the northern zone: Fuentes de Satélite, Santa Cruz del Monte, Bellavista, and Calacoaya neighbourhoods enter here.

Two more zones might be considered inside Satélite: the first one is called the far northern zone. The exclusion is explained because there is a huge low income zone (San Andrés Atenco) between the urban extension of what Satélite normally is considered and this neighbourhoods. The far northern zone includes neighbourhoods such as Alamedas, Santa Mónica Valle Dorado, Arboledas, Pirules and even Club de Golf Hacienda. Finally, the last zone. Zona Esmeralda (Comprising Chiluca, Vallescondido and Sayavedra). This exclusion is easily explained because of the detachment between Satélite and Zona Esmeralda: several hectares of undeveloped grounds, Chamapa-Lechería highway and Madín dam divide the two urban extensions. Other factors are: a whole different urban concept and a higher income level. However, the inhabitants of Zona Esmeralda are not also considered "satelucos", although that term is applied by the actual people that live there to a certain type of people who wander around through the streets in upgraded cars and a high-volumed popular tune. In the heart of Satélite, La Zona Azul, a couple of mainly commercial streets, this parade is most remarked on a Friday afternoon.

These zones mainly belong to Naucalpan, Tlalnepantla, and Atizapán de Zaragoza municipalities

Western Articles

These scams begin with an email which has been affectionately names 'spoof email' by eBay and Paypal. The word 'spoof' reminds many of us of the infamous Mel Brooks films and suggests some sort of comical parody, but here they really refer to a hoax, forged or bogus email. Not one of these names seems entirely correct without the word scam included though, and I much prefer the terms "email hoax scam" or "phishing scam". I will, however, use all these terms throughout the article, you just need to understand that they pretty much refer to the same thing.

What is Phishing? - Phishing is a term used to describe the action of assuming the identity of a legitimate organisation, or web site, using email or web pages and with a view to convince consumers to share their user names, passwords and personal financial information for the purpose of using it to commit fraud. Phishing is a hacker's term, hence the reason it is spelt with a "ph" instead of the expected "f" (the "f" was replaced in hackers' terminology for their telephone hacking activities in the 1970's - "Phone Phreaking"). As such, it could be creatively described as "fishing for consumers' identity and financial information", but as the term is relatively new to the english language terms like "scam" and "hoax" will remain closer to the tip of the consumer's tongue.

These email hoax or phishing scams (and the fake web pages that they sometimes refer you to) are nothing new; but they are on rapid increase and with ever changing content, presentation and approaches, a great many of us are likely to fall victim.

This article looks at email hoax or phishing scams and how they work to commit Identity Theft. We will also look at ways to identify an email hoax and what to do in the eventuality that you receive one or fall victim to one. We'll see examples of these forged emails and web pages and we look at what preventative measures you can take with regard to online identity theft in this manner. eBay and Paypal feature strongly in the article - their users are presently main targets for fraudsters, according to growing trends in Identity Theft crime reports, so they fare as the best examples at present. Needless to say that we receive almost daily reports of these forged eBay and Paypal emails together with many others.

This article is updated frequently to reflect new examples of email hoax scams and fake web pages. The observations and recommendations often change to reflect this, and new examples will be displayed on our library of email scams pages, so come back regularly and keep up with this rapidly growing trend or use the link provided on that page to receive a notification of when we add new scams (the ideal way to stay informed and avoid falling victim).

For now, let's look at how the identity theft occurs...

Western blotting

Western blot analysis can detect one protein in a mixture of any number of proteins while giving you information about the size of the protein. It does not matter whether the protein has been synthesized in vivo or in vitro. This method is, however, dependent on the use of a high-quality antibody directed against a desired protein. So you must be able to produce at least a small portion of the protein from a cloned DNA fragment. You will use this antibody as a probe to detect the protein of interest.

Western blotting tells you how much protein has accumulated in cells. If you are interested in the rate of synthesis of a protein, Radio-Immune Precipitation (RIP) may be the best assay for you. Also, if a protein is degraded quickly, Western blotting won't detect it well; you'll need to use (RIP). See the section on RIP for more information, as well as a helpful comparative chart that illustrates the differences between these two techniques.

Let's look at this technique in greater detail.

1. Separate the proteins using SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (also known as SDS-PAGE). This separates the proteins by size.

2. Place a nitrocellulose membrane on the gel and, using electrophoresis, drive the protein (polypeptide) bands onto the nitrocellulose membrane. You want the negative charge to be on the side of the gel and the positive charge to be on the side of the nitrocellulose membrane to drive the negatively charged proteins over to the positively charged nitrocellulose membrane. This gives you a nitrocellulose membrane that is imprinted with the same protein bands as the gel.

One thing to be aware of is that proteins bind better to nitrocellulose at a low pH. You may need to go through some trial-and-error to find the optimal pH. You also need to be sure there are no air bubbles between the nitrocellulose and the gel or your proteins will not transfer.

3. Incubate the nitrocellulose membrane with a primary antibody. Click here to find out more about how to make a primary antibody. The primary antibody, which is the specific antibody mentioned above, sticks to your protein and forms an antibody-protein complex with the protein of interest.

The Facts About Futures Commodities

As a forex trader immerses himself in the market, it will be to his benefit to go beyond currency trading. It will be profitable for the trader to study other aspects of the market, such as commodities, in particular futures commodities.

Futures contracts involve negotiating for certain products like oil or wheat. Other products traded in commodity exchanges include agricultural products like corn, sugar, soy beans, rice and oats. Dairy products like milk, butter, coffee, cattle, lean hogs, among others, also constitute part of the commodities market.

While the above-mentioned items are available in almost all the major commodity exchanges, the ones that matter most to a forex trader are metal products like gold and platinum, and energy contracts, consisting of oil and natural gas. Gold and oil are not just among the most profitable of futures commodities contracts, but they are also watched by analysts as their price fluctuations have wide reaching effects.

Commodities can be traded on the spot, like forex currencies, but the most popular method of conducting commodity trading is via futures contracts, as this is where maximum profit can be obtained. Also, futures contracts act as insurance policies. Be it a farmer or investor, trading futures commodities ensures that regardless of the direction the market, the item (i.e., sugar) will be bought or sold at the agreed price.

The advantage is clear; if the market price for sugar goes down, the seller gains. However, if the price goes up, it is the buyer who benefits. However, there are also futures options available to enable a party to benefit from market movements.

Because futures commodities involve speculation, a lot of study and research has to be undertaken by the forex trader to make an accurate gauge of prices. One way is to look at the commodity index. The index is an instrument that analyzes the market value of certain types of commodities.

It is not enough to rely on the index of course; regardless of the commodity a forex trader is going to buy/sell, he/she will have to analyze the variables that affect the production of that particular commodity. For instance, if the futures contract involves oil, then one has to monitor oil demands, available supply, geo-political situations, and even the weather (oil prices tend to increase during winter months in the United States).

Finally, a forex trader has to look at which exchange he would like to conduct futures transactions. Among the most popular are the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), London Metal Exchange (LME), Multi Commodity Exchange (CMX) and New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).

Trading commodities futures is nothing new; the concept began in the in 18th century as farmers sought to protect their products from adverse supply and demand. Although the financial markets have grown more complex, the concept remains the same: making a profit and protecting your assets. By studying the facts, a forex trader will be able to do both.

Trading Online in the Forex Market

The increase in the number of people who make transactions online over the past few years made FOREX traders develop the idea of doing their transactions over the internet using an automated FOREX online trading system.

FOREX or foreign exchange is all about exchanging currencies. This form of trading is widely recognized all over the world by people from diverse nationalities.

Investors gain profit from the comparative exchange value of a currency to another currency. It is not focused on the currency value but the exchange value. The usual currencies that are being exchanged are USD to Pounds or USD to Euros.

These are the things you must follow when it comes to the international currency trade. The buying and selling of foreign currencies should go like this; if the currency is low, you will buy it and then if the currency that you bought increases in value that was the time that you can sell the currency that you acquired. These transactions can generate you about $200-$2000 a day depending on the market and your investment.

Before, when the internet is not yet booming, the currency trading was only done by large banks and institutes. But now, in the internet world, anyone can have an online FOREX trading account. For as low as 100$, you can have a FOREX trading account opened by FOREX brokers. The good thing about online FOREX trading is that you are your own boss. No need to work for other persons.

Due to the increasing numbers of FOREX traders online, brokerage companies develop a more effective way of meeting the demands of FOREX traders. Companies are launching powerful software and other products with lower margins.

There is a lot of trading software to choose from. This software offers numerous features for the trader's use. It will display the most important up to date currency pairs as well as locating the most profitable transactions for you through the aid of the charting software.

The entry and exit of trades can also be managed by this trading software. Online FOREX trading can be done at home through the use of high speed internet connection. High speed internet connection is very important when engaging in FOREX trade because it will make your transactions easier and trouble free.

In an online FOREX trading, there are no hassles in organizing your transactions because you can use an autopilot system to enable your transactions run even if you are at work.

For example, you will be working from around 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and then and you will be able to check your FOREX trading account by 7:00 pm, Before you leave your transactions, specify first the cost of each currency that you will put on the market and then the autopilot system will take care of the rest. And then after a day's work, check you account and see the revenues that you have made.

Still, it is extremely recommended that you educate yourself first before investing in this type of business.

Forex: Fools Rush

One of the biggest mistakes that a beginning forex trader can make is to dive right into the forex market - only to experience losses a day or so later.

If you are a beginning forex trader, one of things you must learn is that it takes (a) as trading strategy, and (b) unemotional decision making to rake in profits. Don't be lured by offers of high returns, risk-free trading and low investment in forex; although they are true, forex trading has much more breadth than its hype.

If you have signed up for a forex account, don't be tempted to right away trade - take the time to study the market and learn from the bigger players in forex trading.

There are five major groups of investors who trade in forex: banks, governments, corporations, investment funds, and traders. There are different reasons for trading by each group. What is common though among them, except for traders, is that they have controls and accountabilities in place for trading decisions. Individual traders like you are accountable only to your own self.

This means that if you lack the discipline, you will not hack it. Play by the same rules as the institutional as well as educated forex traders, they always trade with a strategy in place. The forex trading strategies arise from (a) being very educated in how the market moves, (b) the ability to apply technical analysis from charts and plot out entry and exit points, and (c) the intelligent use of different types of order to minimize risk and maximize profit.

One of the things that should be learned by any forex trader is money management as part of a trading strategy. Before trading, think about the market position size, margin, recent profits and losses, and contingency plans.

There are various ways to approach money management. Often, they rely on the core equity calculation. Core equity is the forex trader's starting balance minus the money for open positions or active trades that have not yet been closed.

It is always wise to limit the risk to 1% to 3% of each transaction. If you are trading a standard forex lot of $100,000, a trader should limit the risk to $1,000 to $3,000. This is done by placing a stop loss order (automatic selling) if the rate goes 100 pips (if one pip is equal to $10) above or below the trader's entry position.

Timing in Forex and Overlapping Markets

As in most endeavors, timing in forex is everything, too. We should learn when to trade and when not to trade in forex. This expertise spells success in currency trading and it has to do with overlapping markets.

We have to time trading with the trading in other countries because this gives us added forex odds. Good timing in forex is when markets are characterized by heavy volume. Without this timing factor trading would not be as profitable or worse, might prove a disaster. Thus, we choose a time when more countries have their forex markets open for trading at the same time. This is the optimal timing in forex.

Forex market is open 24 hours a day worldwide. Local currency markets all open from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon, according to their local time or time zones. If we trade at a time when more local markets are open for trading worldwide there is heavy volume, especially at a time when there are overlapping markets.

Overlapping markets are those that have times of trading simultaneously happening or touching at the closing time of one and the opening time of the other. This is the most profitable timing in forex when volumes are high and there's an excess of pip movements. When overlapping markets happen trade experts take advantage and trade their best investment.

For example, from 8 in the morning to 12 pm (EST) we may trade EUR/USD or USD/CHF. It may also be the right timing in forex to trade GBP/USD. The overlapping markets here are between the US and the European markets - with the US opening its market while Europe is about to close its own. Another instance is at 1 to 3 in the morning (EST) when forex trading is usually at its busiest because the overlapping markets of Asia and Europe afford the right timing in forex to trade in their currencies - the Asian markets are about to close while those of Europe are just opening.

From 7 to 10 in the evening (EST) Australia and Asia have overlapping markets and the timing in forex to trade in their currencies is perfect. However, from 4 in the afternoon to 6 at dusk timing in forex is bad as there are no overlapping markets and the US market closes at the time.

Hence, it is vital to observe the right timing in forex for more profitable high volumes by trading when there are overlapping markets.

The Role of Banks in Forward Exchange 2

On the other hand, if the demand for forward exchange exceeds its supply, the forward rates will be quoted at a premium over the spot rate - i.e., forward rate will be higher than the spot rate. The demand for forward exchange arises, mainly, from imports, outflow of capital, arbitrage operations, and bullish speculation.

An importer of foreign goods having to make payment, after a certain period of time, may contract to purchase foreign exchange in advance, to avoid the risk of changes in exchange rates. Arbitragers move funds from one centre to another, to earn profits out of the interest differential that may exist between the two centers.

An arbitrager who transfers funds abroad takes advantage of a comparatively higher rate of interest abroad, contracts at the same time to sell forward exchange to cover them against exchange risks.

Speculators intentionally take an open, or uncovered, position, expecting to gain from future changes in the exchange rate. If the speculators expect a rise in the exchange rate, they will have an incentive to contract for the purchase of forward exchange. Similarly, the supply of forward exchange comes, mainly, from exporters of merchandise, exporters of capital, arbitragers, and speculators.

The Role of Banks in Forward Exchange

Banks normally undertake no risks in providing forward exchange facilities. There are importers who want to cover themselves against exchange risks by purchasing forward exchange. At the same time, there are exporters who want to sell forward exchange with a similar motive. The banks earn their commission simply by acting as intermediaries between the buyers and sellers of forward exchange.

If a bank contracts to sell forward exchange to an importer, the bank, at the same time, undertakes to purchase forward exchange from an exporter. So long as forward purchases and sales of a bank are exactly matched, no risk is involved, for whatever may be the spot exchange rate at the time, its forward contracts mature.

It is, however, not necessary that the demand for, and supply of, forward exchange should exactly match, at any point in time. If the sales of a bank exceed its purchases of forward exchange, it will be taking an uncovered position, and thereby expose itself to the risks of fluctuations in exchange rates.

Next is a concrete example to illustrate the main alternatives available to a bank for covering its position:

Suppose a bank's sale of a ninety-day forward sterling exceeds its purchases of forward sterling of the same maturity. After ninety days, it will be required to deliver more sterling than that which it receives from its purchases. One way for the bank to match purchases to its sales is to buy ninety-days sterling bills on the exchange market. These bills will mature after ninety days and provide the required sterling at the time the banks sales of sterling fall due.

An alternative will be to buy spot sterling from exporters, or from banks having surplus sterling. If the bank does so, it will have to hold sterling in London for ninety days because these funds can be lent only in London, otherwise it will lose interest on these funds.

Another alternative will be to buy sterling from speculators. Speculators intentionally take an open, or uncovered, position, expecting to make profits from changes in exchange rates. In case the bank does not find it possible to buy sterling from any of these sources, it will simply refuse to sell additional forward sterling.

Forward exchange rates, like spot exchange rates, are determined by the demand for, and the supply of, forward exchange. If the supply of forward exchange exceeds the demand for it, the forward rates will be quoted at a discount over the spot rate - i.e., forward exchange rate will be lower than the spot exchange rate.

Mini Forex

For investors just starting out in the complicated, fast-paced world of Foreign Exchange, the whole thing can be very daunting, not to mention expensive, if the investor’s rookie mistakes lead to some bad trades. To help people get their feet wet without losing their shirts, many brokers offer what’s known as a mini forex account.

Mini forex works exactly the same as regular Forex Trading. The only difference is that the investor only has to put a small amount of money into it to begin with — as low as $100 or $200. (Regular forex accounts usually require 10 times that amount.)

The advantage of a mini forex account is that it lets you learn the ropes of the Forex Market through hands-on experience — books, lectures and demos can only teach you so much — without risking more than a couple hundred dollars of your own money. All trading is risky in that it carries with it the possibility of failure. But with mini Forex Trading, the most you can lose is the $100 or $200 you initially put into it.

There are psychological benefits with mini Forex Trading, too. One of the reasons people lose money in the market is that they hang on to losing prospects longer than they should, hoping the trend will reverse itself and they’ll win everything back — and then the trend doesn’t reverse itself until after the investor has already lost everything. Human emotion gets in the way of making sensible trades

Mini forex carries the same risk, of course — but since the amounts are so much small, the mini forex trader isn’t losing much if he does hang on to a loser longer than he should. It’s a sort of practice area to let the investor train himself to make good decisions. Once he’s mastered the art, he can take off the mini forex training wheels and start investing much larger amounts.

Another benefit of mini forex trading is that it can be utilized by people who don’t want to make forex trading their bread and butter but simply enjoy the thrill and competition of it. Forex trading can be fun, after all, but the fact that you’re playing with large sums of money can make it more nerve-racking than enjoyable. Mini forex accounts bring it back down to the level of enjoyment, like playing penny-ante poker with your friends. The game is the same, but the stakes are much lower, and thus the experience is less risky.
